Have you ever heard the phrase "I'm working too hard to earn any money"? Well being a mom is a full time job and I have dedicated most my life to being the best mom I could be, throwing ambitions aside until my family was grown. Now that job has taken a back seat I have concentrated on making a dream come true, one I have held dear to my heart all my life. Singing.

I enjoy all genres of music and when I sing, I throw myself into the lyrics and live the song. The words of a song tell a story and it deserves to be told as well as I can perform it. I have sung in a rock band and a blues band but I love to sing the old standards as well. I've been in the karaoke business over 14 years and more than 12 of those have been running my own show. I love giving people the chance to be a star; seeing the happiness on their faces when an audience starts applauding is a reward unto itself. I get a real kick out of making people happy however I can.

I perform at many weddings, singing at the ceremonies as well as providing the entertainment for the receptions following. One of my most rewarding performances was having the pleasure to be one of the opening acts for Wildcatter Records recording artist, country music's David Ball (Riding With Private Malone, Look What Followed Me Home, When the Thought of You Catches Up with Me, Thinkin' Problem, etc)--a terrific experience!!! One of my most unusual gigs was while I was singing with the Broadstreet Blues Band--we played a party at a chicken ranch. Yes, an actual CHICKEN RANCH!! That was exciting and what a hoot!!!

I've provided music and entertainment for charity groups including the Children's Miracle Network and the American Cancer Society, as well as helping with several other well known charities' fundraising events. Personal appearances for private functions is what I do much of these days and I really enjoy them, but what I'm really gearing up for is continuing with my singing career. At the moment I am in the throes of recording and producing my first cd and it should be out early next year.

Whoo!! I'm rambling on now so take care and I hope to see you all out there sometime in the near future.

Yours in Song,

Cathi Rice
