Dean Morrison

I only really started to pick up guitar because my brother did. Back when I was in Grade 9, he started to learn, and since I was in that stage where I followed everything he did, I learned as well. He had a guitar teacher, who turned him on to the work of G3 (Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson & Steve Vai). Before I saw these 3 men perform, I didn't have a whole lot of experience in the area of 'what you can do on a guitar'. These guys blew me away, and gave me something to shoot for.

So, I studied the scales, the songs, the chords and the techniques until eventually I could hack it pretty good. I was basically playing instrumentals until I was shown the work of Jason Mraz,& Speechwriters LLC, who taught me the glory of vocal melodies and techniques.

Even after all this, I still wasn't quite the musician I wanted to be. This is when I discovered Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, who taught me how to put HEART into the music, whether it be vocal or instrumental. Immediately I lost my taste for shred guitar, as every note Stevie played resonated with feeling in that vintage strat tone.

What you'll hear from me is a combination of all the guitar and vocal techniques and ideas that have been flowing through my head, and continue to flow. I do hope you enjoy the music.
