My name is Dona....I was born in the Panhandle of Texas but lived most of my life in California and still do. My family has always been involved in music... I have two very talented younger brothers who are amazing and reside in the Houston area. I miss them and wish I could visit them more often than I do. I also miss my Dad who passed away several years ago. He was also very talented and had a love for music. He loved everything about country music.. Once his mounted amplifiers and guitars became unhinged while speeding down the freeway... they flew through the air and exploded on the highway into a million pieces... He was devastated and was as sad as if he had lost a good friend... He used to always encourage me to sing and get involved but I resisted... Lord knows why I did that but now I regret it so much.. My interest in singing has grown alot stronger over the last few years. I have received alot of positive support and have been enjoying more opportunities to sing whenever possible.. Ummmm... OK... I admit....it's a lot of fun and a great stress reliever... The fact is... I love it now... I get my inspiration from several artists such as Sheryl Crow, Chrissie Hyde from The Pretenders, Faith Hill, Linda Ronstadt, and Shania Twain to name a few. I have been in the wings and backstage with Linda Ronstadt during her Canciones De Mi Padre tour. I was also lucky enough to be present during a private back lot studio practice performance by Rod Stewart. I met him as well as his band members who were so very nice to me. I was also invited backstage at his LA concert. I just thought I would share those couple of fun experiences and no I wasn't a groupie! lol I just have a friend in the business who builds custom stages and custom mic stands.. I sing live. When I record, I record on a professional Mackie mixing board (still learning the joys and pitfalls of mixing myself..) I like doing my own thing when I sing and tend to let loose. I sing a few different styles but enjoy listening to many. I like to sing rock, country, popular and some big band tunes.. I sing from my heart and give 100 %.. I love high energy songs and get the most enjoyment singing that type. Singing has become very important to me and I can be opinionated from time to time. I am always eager to learn and singing has also helped me be a more confident person. I give thanks to my husband Tom for all his loving encouragement as he is my soulmate. He is my technical advisor as well and without him I would be lost.. So I am here to share my love of music and song with you all.. I support all amateur/semi pro/pro singers and entertainers striving to better themselves and their careers. I want to be sure to thank everyone on this site and everyone who takes the time to listen to my songs. I really do appreciate it so much. Yes.. this is a pretty cool place and I am very privileged to be around such a talented and driven group of people who have the same love that I do.... My life's experiences have taught me that I have no delusions of unrealistic endeavors but I am always looking to the future and what it might hold.... Always, Dona
